Strong Jake Cole Campaign in Carleton-Mississippi Mills.

I’m part of the Jake Cole campaign team. Just wanted to post that we are having exceptional response to the campaign. I was part of the 2006 team – at that time there was only 5 of us when the campaign started, with three having been through an election. This time the executive alone was 14 people, and all have dedicated time to the campaign.
We were first out with road signs, and are now second to the Conservatives in lawn sign endorsements. We’ve had way very good response at two community fall fairs, and the biggest group supporting a candidate at the Stittsville Village Fest parade.
The Justin MacKinnon campaign seems well funded (lots of signs and big community paper ads) but very thin on volunteers. Justin is enthusiastic as a candidate, but very inexperienced.
Paul Arbour is a very good speaker, but the NDP is even weaker on the ground thanthe Liberals – not often more than Paul, his wife, and one or two others helping out at events.
Gordon O’Connor is running a safe campaign – avoiding any small or single issue debates, and staying in very dafe territory on debate speeches. Good group of volunteers, but they pay some of the youth for things like signs.

This riding may well be the safest “hold” for the Conservatives outside of Alberta.

Jake Cole… nice, intelligent man but no chance.

I’m working with the Justin MacKinnon campaign.

I find the previous comment from Murray Reeves a bit odd. You state that Justin’s campaign is very “thin on volunteers.” Perhaps you missed the Park n’ Ride this morning where 7 Justin members AND Justin were handing out brochures, waiving to cars and chatting with constituents. The office is run full time from 9am to 6pm. Plus, Justin is canvassing 5-6 nights a week.

Justin, inexperienced? So is Barrack Obama. Not comparing Justin to him but just making a comment.

Don’t trust everything you read on just this website. The Greens are a distant 3rd in CMM.
