I am concerned that there are a number of citizens out there that are damaging, destroying or moving signs for the various candidates. I believe that they may not be aware that to move, damage or destroy a candidates election sign may be considered a criminal offence and may be subject to a fine or even a jail sentence. It would be a shame for a young ( or older ) person to have to pay this type of punishment for a few minutes of fun. If you don't agree with the candidate or their party go out and vote for another person.
This goes for candidates literature and anything else that promotes an individual candidate.
In Ajax - Pickering the incidents of damaged signs and moving signs from one property to another is rampant.
There have even been incidents of canvasers for various candidates removing from mailboxes material from other parties and replacing it with some of their own. I understand that there is some cell phone pictures showning the identity of some of these individuals. Hope they are prepared for what awaits them.

I have had similar experience with Holland. He seems on the ball. I don't really care where or with whom he lives, as long as he votes for us in parlement.

I was appalled to see that the Green party candidate has a personal public page showing pictures of his kids and his many girlfriends. How tacky. Why would anyone want to put their children on an open facebook page? He has many friends too, but none of them are from his riding, and from what I can tell from reading all his personal wall posting he hasn't seen or spoken to most of them in years. And yes I can read all his personal information and I am not a friend of his! Its called privacy setting Mike! Some people don't seem to know where to draw the line. People who vote for you are supporters not friends! Set up a politicians page and make your personal account private!

I really believe in the Green Party's platforms, and feel its too bad they dropped the ball on picking this guy. As a long time supporter of the Green Party I feel a little sad that this year Mark Holland will be getting my vote!

When it comes to politics I am an equal opportunity critic, but I have to say that Holland impresses me. He is a young, passionate and hard-working MP, and someone who I believe well-represents the voices of his constituents in Ottawa.

While you may disagree with Holland on issues of policy, resorting to personal attacks demonstrates a feebleness of mind and adds nothing positive to the debate.

For the record, a friend of mine knows Holland and told me he lives at Brock and Finch, in his riding.

Holland will be down by over 4000 votes - this will be a closer one with Rick Johnson, local councillor, for Cons. Holland left his wife and now lives in Etobicoke Lakeshore and locals know it. It wont be a cake walk.

It is interesting to see how this riding will pan out because Ajax-Pickering will be affected by both the automotive job losses and I think a strong Liberal candidate. Mark Holland has a big network of friends on Facebook, which I found particularly interesting as a 23 year old interested in politics and very active on the web. Mark Holland has a fully public profile that operates a lot like any regular user. Most candidates have official websites and doesn't fully utilize the facebook platform. Mr. Holland replies to messages quickly and shares photos and thoughts.
