Rae, Ignatieff, Manley and McKenna are all a bit long in the tooth for the job. I am guessing this iteration of Harper's reign will last at least two, and possibly three years. By that time, these guys will be pretty close to retirement of age of 65. I suppose though, that the economy might be in such a mess, and RRSPs might have lost so much value, that 65 may no longer be the "normal" retirement age.

It is easy to question Dion's leadership, as it was to question Joe Clark's in 1979-80, and Stanfield's in 1974. However, subsequent events showed that Clark and Stanfield were basically on the right track - Trudeau DID introduce the wage and price controls that were the cornerstone of Stanfield's policy, and the rebellion against Clark's gasoline tax was made to look silly by later events.

Something has to be done about climate change, and the green shift was a place to start. The US once had a "know nothing" party - we are now governed by a "don't want to know" and "do nothing" party where it comes to the environment.

Wrong once again. The only mistake that the Liberals including Mr.Dion can make is for him to resign...and take with him the progress made on dealing with climate change.
Why do you continue to parrot Harper? Today's word..."Incrementalism". Last month it was "economic fundamentals".
For the miniscule proportion of Canadians who were mislead into supporting the "The New Government of Canada"...let us hope that the majority will spend the next few years laying the groundwork for a government that matters.
